Good GPS
My husband thought a GPS would be a good investment, especially with the price cuts around the holidays. We got a good deal on cyber Monday and are very happy with the GPS. It has text-to-speech so it announces the actual street names. We've only had it a few weeks but like it already. We're experimenting with which voice is the best. So far the female one with a British accent has good enough pronunciation for us.
We purchased an orange soft case for it, so it's easy to find.

Great unit with one flaw
I gave my C330 Street Pilot to my patents who needed one. So I inherited my wife's C340 and bought her this unit based on a high Consumer Reports rating. It's smaller than the Street Pilot so it'll be easer to pack and store. It displays the speed limit of the road you're on, which is a godsend when you're on an unfimiliar road. After reading the reviews here in Amazon, I bought 2 units for my two daughters. They both love them, not a single problem with either unit. The street speaking feature is great - a definite must have.

Some Initial Problems
After purchasing a Garmin Nuvi 255 for a long road trip to Florida, we discovered a problem with the car charger that was included with our purchase. The screen would black out when charging and the Garmin was only usable when not being charged. We phoned Garmin's tech support and was advised to buy a Garmin house charger and charge the Garmin overnight. We did so, but it did not solve our problem.
